"La La Land" is one of my all-time favorite movie since I first watched it for a lot of personal reasons... In fact, it was painful for me to write this... And it was a challenge to choose which scenes to include or not, and which narrative motives I could use or had to let go, I also had a hard time with the rhymes since English is not my mother tongue, but I tried my best and was very careful with the structure of the story... Anyway, I eventually liked to work on this project somehow.
I can't wait to write another story in a new genre and a different style!

WINTER
The sun shined in LA
For someone new, each day,
Who has a dream to make true
It will shine for you too.
There was a girl who dreamed of being
An actress and to be seen.
Though she had not found yet the proper role for her,
For everyone seemed to be better, prettier, younger.
A night, she went dancing with her roommates.
There were so many people there, she felt
Dizzy by the crowd, as if she was no one.
She left and went home.
On her way, she followed some music,
A piano which touched something deep inside.
No one was listening the pianist, that was dramatic!
But before she could act, he ran away with his damaged pride...
SPRING
At a party, under a bright sky,
She met Sebastian again, and they teased each other.
But it was under the stars on LA highs,
That they felt the spark taking over
Later, he came to see her and
On acting and jazz was their debate.
It was a nice time and in the end,
They planned a movie as a date
About this future moment,
She could not stop to think, she was restless.
So she went,
and took her chance.
They left the theater to the planetarium.
There among the stars,
they connected their hearts
And kissed! The scene was handsome.
SUMMER
Their love was as warm as the sun,
Together, they bloomed.
Seb played in a club and was really good,
She was dancing all night, having fun.
He supported her
to write a one woman show,
But he was afraid of how
he could not afford the life he wanted for her.
They met Keith, Sebastian's old pal,
And he joined his band, it was time to grow up...
He disliked their electro-jazz style, but did not give up.
He wanted the sun to shine for them, to him it became vital...
With the money, he could live happily
With her and even open his own place,
She suggested to call it "Seb's"!
They could have been well, they should have been, sweetie...
FALL
The band was taking a huge
Part of his time and
Gradually, his joy ended,
His dreams had no refuge.
They tried to stay in touch,
but she felt lonely.
Once, she left in a hurry,
He stayed behind, it was too much.
When he chose to not come to see her
and support her in her failure,
She broke up and left to her parent's home,
to her little girl's bedroom.
Weeks passed until Seb's phone
Rang for she, it was about an audition!
So, he drove straight to her town
To persuade her to believe one more time, juste one...
There she told a story, remembering
How her aunt made her love acting,
Even when it hurts, when it crushes to dream
To keep going, as foolish as it may seem.
He knew she would be cast
And leave and work hard.
He, too, would have to work hard
This instant was their last.
She would always love him,
He would always love her,
WINTER - 5 YEARS LATER
She was now a famous actress and was recognized.
The sun shined for her upon LA highs.
She had a husband and a daughter.
One night, the couple went to a romantic dinner.
On their way, they heard a fine jazz music
Coming from a club named "Seb's"...
He sat down at the piano and saw her,
Once more, he let his heart talk through his fingers.
